Because you've always been the star. Because you're always shining so brightly, you can't see those around you. But that's not your fault, is it?

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Hiii, I've decided to post somewhere else because this space is no longer private and I feel threatened. I'll come back when I feel like it's safe. ;)

Young Forever

Photobucket

It is all about enjoying life lately.

Shop, get pretty clothes and have nice dinners, satisfying materialistic wants. But it gives me a strong empty feeling. So what if we've all these? So what? It does not empower us in any way. People don't think you're pretty just because you've immaculately dressed. Even you yourself might not agree you're beautiful.

So I decided I'd rather splurge on food, work on getting fat then find motivation to improve my stamina. Ice-cream/ yoghurt cheers me up nearly instantly (P.S. Island Creamery & Frolick!!!) I totally live to eat. But I'm going to get my 2.4 timing 12 flat/under 12 by the end of the holidays. 1240 is way too depressing. I swear running on the track is a pain in the neck, I miss the canal @ Crescent.

But I guess the best part about this week is meeting up w the friends I really, really miss.

Yes, Melissa Foo, my BFF for more 8 years!!! ;)))

Photobucket

It was Friday, so we decided to visit TGIF hahhaa!

Photobucket

Buffalo Wings ;D We ate the celery, praise me!!!

Photobucket

Half-rack but still too much meat I reckon. :(((

Everything w Fries w Yuqi!
Thank you so much for everything, everything, the awesome friend and best senior anyone could have asked for. :)

And my red mean Elmo, whom we celebrated her birthday yesterday. Even though we didn't do anything special at all, I really had fun just hanging out w them. True friends enjoy each others' company even in silence.

Off to Shanghai w my family next week! I really want to cherish the little family time I've w them. I've been reading my archives and I realised I was such a bad and selfish child in the past. I want to change that. ;)))

I'm much stronger now comparing to the time I first stepped into college. Then again, in this fierce environment, it is impossible not to grow. Finally, I'm seeing something positive out of all these for once.

School: Mundane. That hasn't changed a bit. We continue leading life in a routine, do we are told, follow the plans made for us, having little control of our own lives. I need rest, badly. Before long, school is going to drain even that very little left of us now.

And I realised I hate second chances. If you don't want to give me a chance then, don't give me one now. I don't see how you will trust me now when you have little faith in me then. Call me stubborn/petty wtv, but I don't need this. I'm not contented being a replacement, I rather be myself.

I saw this on my news feed:
"There's a point in your life when you are tired of chasing after people and trying to fix things. It's not giving up, it's just realising there's no longer a need."

How true.

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Every time we fail, we either tell ourselves, "it's okay, I've tried my best" or "it's okay, this is not my best yet, I can definitely do better next time". But the thing is, many times in reality, you are given only one chance. And sometimes, even giving your best is not enough. In fact, it's never enough.

I'm really really tired. Both mentally and physically.

I want to do well for so many people, I really do. I want them to know they've made the right choice in believing in me.

I've received far more encouragement than I deserve. There are people looking back, in front, and around for me even in this fast-paced world. Even when they don't know what is gg on w my messed up life, even when they themselves are facing their own problems, even when they need encouragement themselves, they always send me their love and let me know that they're still there because they know I need it. A friend told me this: "When i see you so drained and out, my heart really pains." I wanted to cry so much but I held it back.

I've been crying way too much. But those times are really over. I have to be strong now. I have to continue running this race. I really really must. It is no longer my own choice anymore and I realised it has never been all along.

I was thinking, I must have been Mother Teresa in my past life, to have done so much good that I'm getting this treatment right now. I honestly really do love you guys so much from the bottom of my heart. Sometimes, you all make being independent so difficult, because being reliant on you guys is so easy. But I know it's time to stand on my own now. It's time.

Dec Aussie Trip: Gold Coast

Haven't updated in LONG, 2 months and a few more days to be exact. That's my longest record i guess. :O I've so many priorities over this site now and thus the case. :( So much have happened in school, i really don't know where to start, so i'll start recording my Aussie trip first, before my memory starts to fade.

Second time in Gold Coast, the first being more than 10 years ago. But from my vague impression of it, nothing much changes actually. Apart from the places we visited, I really really love our apartment (Azzura) and the shopping there!!! The view from the apartment was breathtaking. In the morning, you can see hot air balloons up in the sky with the rising sun in the background and in the evening, you can watch as the orange sun sets behind the mountains. ;) Ten thumbs-up!!!!

Not forgetting the times my brother attempted to make hot choc by cooking the choc drink we got at the mart (best ever!!!) in the pot and ended up burning the static stove! HAHAHA. And my mom who whipped up w some awesome steaks for us. :))))

But of course, the beach was the most impressive of them all. I can sit right there, plug in music and watch as the world goes by for the entire day wo feeling restless/bored. The wind, air, water and view just make up for the lack of action. But as for that, you really have to see it for yourself, it's hard to put it in words. The sunsets I caught there were the best I've ever seen in my life. :)

  • Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Crocodiles, snakes, koalas, eagles, kangaroos and more kangaroos. Man, I held a living baby crocodile!!! I was seriously mad scared, but did it nevertheless. It's my 3rd bravest attempt with animals- 1st being playing with tiger cubs when i was young and 2nd being holding a snake around my neck. HAHAHA okay the snake one is quite noob, but I'm really afraid of snakes, more than those cute little tiger cubs!!! :(

I really love the place anyway, it's away from town, quiet, serene and all. Time seems to slow down a lot when you're there. But the mosquitoes were practically feasting on me, so that's bad. :(

Photobucket

Praise me!!! Even Esme's secretly impressed! ;D

Photobucket

To be fair, my brother did it too! Oh well.

Photobucket

Photobucket

CUTEST THING ON EARTH! ;D

  • Paradise Country (Farm)
The food they serve there is AMAZING. Lunch was chicken/fish/steak -all equally good (!!!) Love the garden salad too!!! Plus their tea bread and english tea really reminded me a lot of England except they didn't come in dainty English glassware. I wanna go horse riding someday.

  • Movie World
Found my 2nd fav theme park ride while I was there: SUPERMAN Escape!!! (1st still being Hollywood Dreams @ US Japan) We only rode on it once, but the thrill went right down our spines. Lil' monster took Lethal Weapon on his own cause I was too overwhelmed by the many 360 degrees turn hahaha. ;)

  • Sea World
The corkscrew rollercoaster wasn't operating so the other rides were pretty repetitive. :( The dolphin show was impressive though. Not whale riders, dolphin riders!!!

  • Dream World
Our fav theme park out of the 3.

People say SA is Crescent's second home, if so, why am i feeling so unfamiliar? It feels strange cheering for something you don't have a sense of belonging to.

I would say Crescent: Irreplaceable.

Someone said: "You should learn to let go of Crescent and embrace whatever you have now."

I would try but I think some things just can't be erased so easily. I still have that invisible balance in my heart in which Crescent is always on the heavier side.

Thank you: Munyee, Nicole, SW, Joey for making things so much more bearable.

And my 3 new friends: Natalie, Jin Ting, Angelique. You guys were awesome, thank you for talking to me even though I was being so anti-social. :)

To: You

#1/#2: I wish I could keep up with your world. Idk if you still read this site, but I always and will always read yours. Sometimes, I really have so much to tell you, but I just wouldn't make the call and neither would I talk to you online because I hope one day, you will be doing it before me. Still, I wish to say I love you.

#3: Even though you don't say much and whenever we're together, it always seems like I'm always the one talking, I know you care. And I love youuuu so much!!! I'm glad we chose the same route to take for 2010/2011. :)

#4: To the cheeriest friend I have ever known:

Photobucket

Always thankful and happyyyy to have you around! :) Thank you for bringing me up during the whole post-collection-of-results period (And michelleee too!!!). I'm genuinely glad for you, a job well done! :)

#5: You're so ulu because you seldom come online and every time you do, you'd be busy watching funny shows. (!!!) But you're the first one I would call most of the time if anything major crops out. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything, all the problems that I bothered you with for the past 4 years. :)

P.S. Anddd, I'm proud to have a top scholar as a friend. HEHE.

2010 Movies

the spy next door poster Pictures, Images and Photos

I LOVE THIS!!! ;)
Hooray to all Jackie Chan movies in fact.

the spy next door 1 Pictures, Images and Photos

The kids are terribly cute like Nora (little girl in the pic above) played by Alina Foley (acted in Days of Our Lives if you can rmb) and Ian!!! Nuff said, you should catch if for yourself. :)

Others like Tooth Fairy and Old Dogs are not bad either. :)

And my 2009 movie of the year is :

slumdog millionaire Pictures, Images and Photos

Slumdog Millionaire :)
Not Avatar, unlike most people.

Avatar was basically unique plot and excellent graphics, better proved when you watch it in 3D. And I love the meaning and theme behind the movie: Environmental destruction. After all, it was through the hands of James Cameron, the world-class director of Titanic, so the popularity and favourable critics of the show was kind of expected.

But I guess I was looking for something different which Slumdog Millionaire has to offer. I can't tell why it's good, because generally, everything is perfect. :)

P.S./I wanna catch:

Daybreakers

Valentine's Day
Starring:
Anne Hathaway. Jessica Alba. Jennifer Garner. Julia & Emma Roberts. Jessica Biel. Patrick Dempsey. Taylor Lautner. Ashton Kutcher

Self-explanatory.

Early Jan 2010

1 Jan: Auntie Alicia's 58th Birthday (!!!)

Photobucket

Auntie Alicia's birthday dinner @ Bali Village

(We hardly take family photos like this. :( )

Photobucket

And we went Swensens after that!!! :D
Terribly full and totally playing a fool. Hence, we took such a long time trying to finish our food that the waiters were giving us black face because it was already past their closing hours. HEHEHHE.

Sleepover @ Nicole's (4th/5th Jan)

Photobucket

Guitar Hero like mad. (!!!)

We dined out for dinner- the Jap cuisine and the Macha was heavenly!!! :):):) I love Jap food- another reason why I should move there. Anw, we were kept busy with monopoly & lateral thinking till wee hours of the morning. The next day, Michelle cooked us fried rice for lunch. (!!!) Culinary has never really been on my side so I truly admire people who can make wonders in the kitchen. :)

Photobucket

Walked around 6km to and fro from Nicole's to East Coast. Yeah, we're awesome I know, thank you. :)

In this photo: The orange octopus kite that caught our eye.

P.S. East Coast made me wish i never returned from Surfer's Paradise. It's a total heaven & earth.

Hosin!!!*

We have known each other for 10 years!!! That's > half my lifetime. I'm really very thankful we can still meet up, talk, shop and catch a movie like this, even if it's just once every holiday. Hehehe, you're really really special to me. :)

2S1 @ Botanic Gardens

Picnic. Charades. FUN (!!!!)

2007, was filled with problems, obstacles and troubles from every aspect of my life. But then again, it was my best year in Crescent. Because it forced me to grow and made me see who my true friends are. I trust that I'm a better person now than I was back then.

So, I really treasure this awesome class which I went through 2007 together with!!! :) And of course, also my awesome clique, who I can always go to no matter what happens. I love you all so much!

Reflection

The reason why I haven't been updating much for the past month because I don't want people to be just reading about my entire life routine which is seemingly quite meaningless.

I've yet to tell this to anyone, but my only and best resolution for 2010 is to simply be a better person. I think that being able to overcome all the evil thoughts and unhealthy feelings that you might have when things don't go your way is like bringing yourself to a whole new level. And that feeling when you know that you are still able to do good in the grimmest situations you face is very very very satisfying. It just makes you feel this glow in you and I think that glow can be seen by others too. Pretty is not just a physical word, to me it is the ability to shine. (Thank you tracy, for making me realise that.)

P.S. I think this is a very good read.

December 2009

Hi, it has been long, since last year if that sounds long enough. I've decided to occupy myself by updating about my mindless life here since I've pretty much have nothing to do nowadays. ;)

Life after I flew back from Queensland...

Malaysia
Shopping + Eating + Mad Laughing w/ Junel & Kent = Awesome Possum (!!!)
Was too engrossed having fun so there are not many pictures of the trip. But that's a good thing, I mean the first.

Photobucket

I love this shot!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Very proud to be a Hainanese even though I can't speak a single word of it. Plus this has my birth year calved on it. ;)

-----------------

After all that overseas fun, I returned to start work @ Esprit, which was definitely a whole new experience. Met a few new people + a spunky Uncle Eric and really did enjoy the time there- talking nonsense, truth or dare, crazy shopping @ 313, waiting for our fav songs to be played on 987 etc. It was great. :D

Photobucket

New friends (besides Sw): Yellow 4! (L)

P.S. This is NOT our uniform.

11th Dec: Esme's 16th!!! ;)

Haha, my best friend/partner is finally legal to walk into a NC16 openly after all that sneaking around, must have felt good.

Photobucket

Lunch @ Seoul Garden!
Cake: Specially flown in from Germany by Artttt hahaha! But the very unappreciative birthday girl ( with the help of us) only finished half of it :(

Photobucket

Wasn't a bowling day for me! The scores were horriblexzxz, but it was funnn still. ;)

Photobucket

24th/25th Dec: Christmas

My fav festive season besides CNY because there are always lovely presents to give and receive. Best present: the Stitch toy Esme got for me. I hug it to sleep every night, it's too cuteeeee!!! Also, did manicure w/ yingying as a small reward for ourselves for X'mas. ;)

X'Mas Countdown Party @ Auntie Alicia's. Man, I love the turkey + bacon + roasted potatoes made by a special someone hehehe! After which we drove down to HV's Swensens @ 2am in the morning for supper. HV after midnight reminds me pretty much of Aussie, partly because many of those left on the streets were drunk and still high in the party mood.
Anw, we suffered a hangover the next day despite being alcohol free hahaha!!!

26th: Boxing Day

---End of 2009---

Totally random but,

I m now madly in love with:

Tokio Hotel Pictures, Images and Photos

Love them or h8 them.

I realised I got a thing for guys who paint their nails black. Like Adam Lambert and Bill Kaulitz (lead singer w funky hair above). Who cares what they do w their personal lives, they're AWESOME performers!
